Wegweis

What it is

Wegweis helps newcomers in Vienna figure out their next bureaucratic step. You describe your situation in plain words, and it answers with an ordered checklist: which offices to visit, which documents to bring, where to book appointments and what has to happen first.

A language model only classifies the question. The checklist itself is assembled from verified content with source links and verification dates, so it never invents a form, address or phone number. When a case is not covered or needs a person, it points to organizations that can help.

Why it exists

Chat tools for cities answer with plausible prose, but newcomers need steps that are verified, in the right order and backed by sources they can forward to an employer or a school. Wegweis works without an account, does not store questions by default and is not affiliated with the City of Vienna.
